Astrodon Will Introduce 65mm Filters for SBIG STX Cameras at AIC

 

 

SBIG will shorly introduce their next generation, large format camera, the STX, which is capable of handling the large 36 x 36mm 16 MPix KAF16803E full-frame sensor.  They will include their patented internal guide sensor in the main camera chamber.  This large area requires larger filters.  SBIG will also introduce a new filter wheel that will house 65 mm square filters.  Astrodon will have it latest E-Series LRGB filters and a 5 nm H-a narrowband filter available in this 65 mm square size at AIC at the end of October.  SBIG inidcated that it will have inserts for this filter wheel to use current 50mm square filters if the internal guide sensor will not be used in favor of off-axis or guide scope guiding.
