MOAG Off-Axis Guider

MOAG means Manual Off-Axis Guider, a non-moving part of your optical train.

This smaller member of our off-axis guider product line is specifically designed to be integrated with SBIG adaptive optics (AO) devices, including the ST/AO8 and STL/AO-L systems. AO technology allows fast guiding that can dramatically lead to sharper stars and finer detail. For stand-alone  applications involving  KAI11002XM  and larger detectors, such as the KAF16803E, we  recommend the MonsterMOAG or  MegaMOAG.

"Something like 25% of our 40 client scopes are now equipped with an Astrodon MOAG and SBIG AO system, and more will follow as Imagers discover what a MOAG can do."          Mike Rice, New Mexico Skies

"Precision guiding with large, long-focal-length telescopes (like our 24" RCOS F10.0) can be a real challenge.  New Mexico Skies reccommends and prefers SBIG AO products (like the AO-L) in conjunction with Astrodon MOAG products.  The MOAG gives us a bright front-of-filter guide star image that is easy to guide especially using the AO-L with high cycle rates.  Imagine being able to guide using one of Astrodon's new 3nm narrow-band filters at 10 reps per second. The ability to capture very fine detail in a perfectly guided narrow band image is wonderful.  The MOAG makes impossible AO guiding situations EASY".    Mike Rice, New Mexico Skies
